Lisa Nelson - Psychotherapist, Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Ruby - Canine Therapist, Pembroke Welsh Corgi

I am a clinical social worker with over 7 years of experience in the mental health field. My career began with several years of community based work with severe and persistent mental illness focusing on psychiatric rehabilitation. In recent years, I have moved into psychotherapy, working in private practice with adults experiencing various mental health stressors and with forensic populations in agency work. Though I have an adaptive style, my preferred treatment modality is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which uses awareness and shifts in the links between an individual's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to promote positive change in their life. It is a well researched, highly effective, evidence based treatment.
